This set features rich, solid, figured cherry wood, and the extraordinary architectural, trapezoidal, handles that serve as the hallmark of this line. Every handle is in wonderful, original condition, with its original angular edges intact - an extraordinary find for solid wood handles of this era.

The chest of drawers has the coveted flat-front open second drawer with integrated interior dividers. The side table has the less common double-level design. Both pieces have been dated to the first year of the introduction of the "Manhattan Group" line, 1953. This line was offered as a premium limited production run, making surviving pieces more rare than other Hooker pieces.

Form and function are perfectly married in this set. Perfect for a bedroom, or as statement pieces in a living room. Minimalist style, solid, well-built, and meticulously-maintained.

Both pieces have their original finish and are in wonderful condition. This set has been lovingly maintained and preserved, ready to be welcomed to their new home. Pick up in eastern Massachusetts will receive a discount on purchase price.
