A breathtaking and highly ornate vintage vase, masterfully cast in bronze and finished with a radiant gold-gilt. Standing at 9.8 inches tall, this substantial piece (weighing nearly 3 lbs) is a true masterpiece of Asian metalwork.
The vase is modeled in the classic "Double-Gourd" (Wulu) shape, which is deeply auspicious in Chinese culture, symbolizing good fortune, prosperity (Fu), and longevity. The entire surface is covered in intricate, high-relief (repoussé) chasing and engraving. It features prominent circular cartouches containing detailed landscapes and floral scenes, surrounded by dense, swirling scroll motifs, all highlighted by the brilliant gilding.
