A serene and majestic vintage sculpture of Guanyin (Avalokiteshvara), the revered Bodhisattva of Compassion. Standing at 12.2 inches tall and weighing a substantial 4.2 lbs, this piece is a beautiful example of Asian Buddhist metalwork.
The figure is elegantly modeled, standing gracefully upon a detailed double-lotus pedestal. She is depicted with flowing, draped robes and a high ornate crown. The face and exposed chest are finished in a rich gold gilt, beautifully contrasting with the warm, reddish-copper tone of her robes and the base. Her hands are elegantly positioned, holding a lotus blossom in one and a small vessel in the other, symbolizing purity and the granting of blessings.
