Striking pair of oversized vintage table lamps by Lawrin Lamp Company, circa 1970s. Each lamp features sculptural walnut accents framing a dark smoked plexiglass body, finished with a chrome base and a tall nubby off white cylindrical shade.
What makes these especially unusual is the lighting configuration. In addition to the standard upper bulb beneath the shade, each lamp has three interior candelabra-style lights housed within the smoked plexiglass body. When illuminated, the lower section glows through the dark plexiglass and creates a dramatic layered effect.
The combination of walnut, chrome, smoked plexiglass, and oversized proportions gives the pair a strong 1970s Mid-Century Modern / Space Age presence. Excellent as a pair on a credenza, console, or large nightstands.
Sold as a pair.
