A grand neoclassical style pier mirror standing nearly seven feet tall. The frame is painted in a soft, timeworn blue-green with warm rust and copper undertones, finished with gilt highlights: a scrolling acanthus crest, a pair of full-height columns with gilded lotus capitals and banded details, and a deep stepped cornice across the top. It sits on a stepped plinth base, so it can lean against the wall or be mounted.
Lean it in an entryway, bedroom or dressing room, or hang it above a console and let it anchor the whole wall. A true French country statement piece.
Condition: The distressed finish is intentional. There are a couple of hairline cracks through the gilt crest scrolls and one small scroll tip is missing. A gilt leaf on the right column has a small chip, and there are small chips and wear to the cornice corners and light wear along the lower frame.
Overall 80.5" H x 53.25" W at the base (51.5" W at the cornice). Mirror glass 31.5" W x 53.5" H.
