The piece is crafted in an archaistic style, heavily inspired by ancient Chinese ritual bronzes from the Warring States or Han Dynasty periods.

Symbolism & Design:
The bell is a classic representation of Chinese ritual music and authority.

The Handles: The top features a prominent loop handle flanked by two highly detailed, sculptural dragons (chilong) facing outwards. The dragons are highlighted with gold and silver inlays.

The Body: The main body of the bell is covered in columns of archaistic inscriptions (stylized ancient characters), also inlaid in gold and silver.

The Decoration: The domed top and the flared bottom rim are decorated with swirling, geometric patterns and stylized cloud or wave motifs, heavily accented with gold and silver wire inlay.

The Finish: The bronze shows a rich, dark patina with subtle green oxidation (verdigris), contrasting beautifully with the bright metallic inlays. See less
