The piece is crafted from solid copper/bronze with intricate gilt (gold) and silver highlights.

Symbolism & Design:
In traditional Chinese culture, the monkey and peach are classic symbols of longevity and immortality.

The monkey is beautifully detailed with a gilded face, hands, and feet, wearing a gilded tunic with geometric patterns.

The large peach is designed as a hollow vessel (likely in two halves) with pierced/openwork vine and leaf motifs, allowing incense smoke to gently waft through. The piece features a rich, dark brown patina with the gold and silver accents standing out beautifully. See less
