A wonderful vintage set of three "exploding clock" paperweight sculptures. Dating back to the 1960s or 1970s, these eye-catching pieces feature real, deconstructed mechanical watch parts, intricate brass gears, hands, and multiple watch dials seamlessly frozen in time.
Crafted in the iconic style of French resin artist Pierre Giraudon, the sculptures feature thick, faceted silhouettes made of crystal-clear acrylic/Lucite. The largest piece features a vibrant, retro blue watch face which anchors the center, surrounded by an intricate, floating cascade of gold and silver-toned mechanical components. Because these pieces were meticulously hand-assembled, no two configurations are identical, making these a truly one-of-a-kind work of functional pop art.
These would be a fabulous addition to any encapsulated lucite collection or an instant collection for someone just starting out.
Largest piece measures 4”, round piece is 3”, small cube is just under 2”
