This vintage sofa frame is a long, low study in bent rattan, built as a two-section sectional with a lattice-style back and sweeping hoop arms. Each section has a gently raked back framed in slender poles, with short vertical spindles set between two horizontal rails, which creates an open, ladder-like grid that keeps the profile light and airy. The outer arm is formed from a generous, triple-pole arch that curves forward and down in one continuous loop, with a thinner inner rail echoing its shape. Joints are bound with tight wraps of dark cane, an artisanal detail that adds tactile contrast and strength. Beneath the seat, a wood-edged deck is supported by slim arched stretchers that spring between the legs, giving the base a graceful, bridge-like rhythm. The rattan glows in honey, amber, and wheat, with dark growth nodes that add natural variation and a mellow, aged patina. The seat decks are covered in raw burlap webbing, so the frame is offered without cushions. The two sections sit side by side and read as one long, sculptural form.
Substantial and airy, this frame suits a sunroom, porch, living room, or den, where it can be restored with new cushions in a favorite fabric, or styled as a sculptural bench. It complements Mid-Century Modern, Coastal, Boho Chic, Organic Modern, and Palm Beach Chic interiors. The frame measures 93.25 inches (2369 mm) wide, 21 inches (533 mm) deep, and 27 inches (686 mm) high, with a 10.5-inch (267 mm) seat height before cushions. Condition is good: the original rattan frame shows an age-appropriate patina with minor surface wear, the seat decks show wear and staining, and the frame is structurally sound. Cushions are not included. For care, dust with a soft brush or vacuum attachment, wipe gently with a barely damp cloth, and keep away from prolonged direct sun and excess moisture.
