Antique French glass dome from the Napoleon III era (second half of the 19th century). This is what in France is known as a "globe de mariée," literally "bridal dome," a very fashionable item in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
These arrangements under a glass dome were created by brides to hold their bouquet, tiara, and other mementos from their wedding day.
