An authentic French figural lamp depicting Au Printemps (Spring) by Auguste Moreau (1834–1917). The semi-nude male figure raises a garland aloft, symbolizing vitality and renewal. Cast in spelter with a bronze finish and mounted on an ivory-painted neoclassical base adorned with ribbons and floral swags.
Signed Aug. Moreau on the base and stamped with the Paris foundry seal reading “Fabrication Française – Made in France.”
Measures approximately 20¼ inches to the top of the socket and 17¼ inches to the top of the figure. Base 5½ inches diameter.
In excellent antique condition with only minor wear to the patina. Lamp is in working order but should be rewired for safety.
A fine example of early twentieth-century French Art Nouveau sculpture adapted as a lamp.
