The dish measures approximately 7 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches tall. Integrated into the rim is a small sculpted Buddha figure, approximately 1 inch tall, formed as part of the vessel rather than applied later, giving the piece a calm, intentional presence.
The interior features a soft ivory glaze with a hand-painted blue floral medallion at center, framed by a fine blue ring. The rim is gently scalloped with a brown iron edge that transitions into a rich green drip glaze flowing around the exterior. The glaze shows natural movement and variation consistent with studio production.
The underside has a matte, wood-toned ceramic finish with visible throwing rings and is signed with a hand-applied Japanese studio or kiln mark in underglaze blue. The mark is freehand and calligraphic in nature, consistent with Japanese studio pottery.
This piece works beautifully as a small altar or meditation bowl, a catchall, or as a decorative object on its own. It has a quiet, grounded aesthetic and displays well from all angles.
Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, or repairs noted. See less
