Original 1974 etching and aquatint by acclaimed Japanese printmaker Ryohei Tanaka (1933–2019), titled Roofs of Hida No. 5. Hand-signed and dated in pencil by the artist, numbered 82/100 from a limited edition of 100.
Tanaka is celebrated for his exceptionally detailed etchings of traditional Japanese architecture and rural landscapes, particularly the disappearing thatched-roof farmhouses of Japan. This striking composition captures the distinctive steeply pitched roofs of the Hida region, rendered with remarkable precision and texture.
