Exceptionally rare and highly substantial matched pair (x2) of antique Arts & Crafts trumpet-style floral vases, manufactured circa 1910. These pieces demonstrate the elite quality standards and manufacturing hallmarks of legendary Manhattan metalwork master Joseph Heinrichs (Paris Bronze / Heinrichs Corp). While these pieces are unsigned, they are an undeniable attribution by execution. Heinrichs’ workshop functioned as a top-tier supplier to elite luxury retailers such as Tiffany & Co. and Black, Starr & Frost. For these elite partnerships, items were intentionally issued unmarked, allowing the department stores to add their own stamps post-production.
This pair displays Heinrichs’ absolute signature calling card: a heavy-gauge, hand-hammered (planished) copper body structurally reinforced at the rims and flared pedestal feet with contrasting dark, silver-toned nickel alloy (German silver) bands. These mixed-metal accent bands are permanently secured with his iconic, proudly raised industrial domed riveting. Unlike mass-market Mission-era decor, these vessels are crafted from dense sheets of pure copper, yielding a remarkable weight in hand. The heavy, unwarped distribution of the metal and the precise execution of the rolled edges distinguish these as museum-quality metalwork.
Being sold as a set of two (x2). Beautiful form and patina showing only minor wear commensurate with age - please see photos and video. Display, use ready set.
