Her feast day is celebrated on November 25. Devotion to her spread throughout Europe starting in the 6th century, with particular emphasis between the 10th and 12th centuries. She is included among the Fourteen Holy Helpers and is invoked against sudden death. Some scholars have questioned her history. Although her historical existence was called into question by a segment of the Catholic Church starting in 1961, she remains listed in the Roman Martyrology—stripped of legendary narratives—as an optional memorial (*liberum memoria*).
