The design is characterized by its slender vertical profile and the detailed execution of its brass components, combining functional adjustability with understated decorative elements. The lamp features a polished brass structure with subtle vertical fluting along the central stem, giving it a textured appearance that catches light and accentuates its verticality. The adjustment mechanism is incorporated into a stepped cylindrical section located mid-stem, allowing the user to easily raise or lower the height of the lamp. This adjustable feature not only enhances usability but also contributes to the lamp’s visual rhythm and formal complexity. The circular base is made of solid brass and has a smooth, reflective finish. Its weight ensures stability while complementing the slender upper structure. The brass throughout the lamp has developed a gentle patina, with soft oxidation and tonal variation that add character and highlight the lamp’s vintage nature. These surface changes are typical of aged brass and enhance the overall depth and authenticity of the piece. The lamp is fitted with a newly added fabric shade in a light, neutral tone. The shade has a clean, cylindrical form that contrasts with the vertical articulation of the brass and provides a soft diffusion of light. This modern replacement respects the original proportions of the lamp while offering a fresh visual balance to the aged base. Condition is excellent. The brass elements are structurally intact and retain their polished surfaces despite natural aging. The height-adjustable mechanism functions smoothly, and the lamp is fully operational. Although the designer is unknown, the lamp embodies the core principles of Danish mid-century design—refined material use, practical detailing, and a restrained elegance that supports its function as both an object of utility and visual presence.
