A cylindrical bowl with a flared rim, eight stemmed tumblers, and a matching ladle, all made of the same smoked glass where the bubbles are suspended in a regular pattern.
The Biot Glassworks was founded in 1956 by Éloï Monod, a ceramic engineer. The bubble embedded within the glass initially appeared as a manufacturing defect; Monod chose to preserve it, and later made it the workshop's signature. Since then, bubbled glass has been among the rare post-war French productions identifiable solely by its material.
This complete and homogeneous set—bowl, ladle, and eight tumblers—all come from the same production.
Bowl 25 cm diameter x 24 cm high; cups 9.5 cm diameter x 12 cm high
