The vase features a rounded body with a slightly tapered base and a gently flared neck, creating a balanced and sculptural silhouette. The surface is finished with a deep black glazed background animated by vibrant horizontal bands of color that wrap rhythmically around the form.

The decoration includes bright tones reminiscent of a rainbow palette—yellow, red, green, blue, and white—arranged in elongated segments that create a dynamic graphic composition. This visual language reflects Dorazio’s artistic research, known for his exploration of color, rhythm, and geometric abstraction.

The contrast between the glossy black glaze and the vivid chromatic bands gives the vase a strong decorative presence while maintaining an elegant and modern aesthetic. The piece beautifully combines the tradition of Deruta ceramic craftsmanship with the bold abstract sensibility of one of the most important figures in postwar Italian art.

The underside bears the artist’s signature, confirming the attribution.

A distinctive example of Italian art ceramics, ideal as a decorative statement piece in both modern and mid-century interiors.
