This exquisite vintage trinket box is a beautiful example of traditional metalwork, crafted from bronze with a rich, gilded finish. The circular box features a domed lid and straight sides, extensively decorated with high-relief repoussé and chased detailing.
The lid is adorned with a charming, narrative scene depicting several figures, including children, gathered around a table beneath a pavilion or architectural structure. The sides of the box continue the figural motif, featuring a procession of figures in a landscape setting, complete with a horse, stylized trees, and rocky outcroppings, all set against a finely textured, stippled background. A band of scrolling floral vines encircles the rim where the lid meets the base.
The interior of the box is finished in a smooth, bright gold tone. The base is plain and shows natural signs of wear and casting texture. This substantial piece is perfect for storing small treasures, jewelry, or for use as a striking decorative accent on a desk or vanity.

There is notable wear to the gilding, with darker bronze tones showing through on the high points of the relief decoration, which gives the piece an authentic antique appearance. The lid sits snugly on the base. The interior and the base show natural signs of wear and oxidation. Please refer to the photos for a detailed view of the condition and patina. less
