This is a beautiful pair of vintage cloisonné enamel vases, featuring a classic baluster form with a flared mouth. The vases are decorated with a bright, white enamel ground, overlaid with a continuous, intricate pattern of stylized, scrolling clouds in fine gilt wire.
The primary motif features vibrant, multi-colored peonies—symbols of wealth and honor—blooming in shades of pink and blue, surrounded by lush green leaves. A black and red bird is depicted in flight amidst the floral branches on each vase. The neck of each vase is adorned with a band of red and blue lappets, and a matching band of scalloped blue petals encircles the shoulder and the lower section. The vases are finished with polished brass rims at the mouth, waist, and base.
The base of each vase features a recessed circular foot with a textured, light blue enamel finish. These elegant vases are perfect for displaying small floral arrangements or as striking stand-alone decorative accents.
