The body is modeled in deep, tufted relief, with the thick, feathery coat suggested by layered, flame-like tufts that sweep across the back and flanks. A full ruff of fur frames the face, and the front paws extend forward in a calm, watchful stance. The head is turned slightly to the side with an alert, sweet expression. The eyes are painted a clear, glassy blue-green, and the nose is picked out in black. The ears are tipped in soft rose pink on the inside, and a small collar with a bell or tag sits at the throat. The original paint is a dusty cream and silvery gray, with charcoal shading in the hollows. Years of handling have worn the paint in speckled patches, exposing the dark cast metal beneath and giving the surface a rich, time-worn patina. The solid, grounded form is both sculptural and practical, with a sturdy, flat underside that keeps it steady.

Heavy and full of personality, this cat suits a doorway, entry, fireplace hearth, bookshelf, or desk, where it can hold a door open or simply serve as a whimsical accent. It complements Cottage, Traditional, Eclectic, Farmhouse, and Mid-Century Modern interiors. The doorstop measures 10.75 inches (273 mm) wide, 5.25 inches (133 mm) deep, and 5.75 inches (146 mm) high. Condition is good: the painted surface shows age-appropriate wear with areas of paint loss and developed patina, along with minor scratches and scuffs, and the piece is structurally sound with no visible repairs. For care, dust with a soft dry cloth, avoid water and chemical cleaners, and do not repaint, which would diminish the authentic aged finish.
