Cabochon cut moonstone measures 28mm x 9mm (estimated at 13 carats). 4 small old mine cut diamonds total an estimated 0.04 carats (estimated at I-J color and SI2-I1 clarity). Size rubies measure approx. 3mm x 1.5mm.

An extraordinary Retro-era moonstone, ruby and diamond ring centered by an unusually large, dramatically elongated moonstone cabochon. With its striking proportions and ethereal translucency, the moonstone dominates the design. The exceptionally long oval cabochon rises smoothly above the finger in a sleek, softly domed form. In natural sunlight, the stone becomes particularly captivating, displaying a luminous, almost otherworldly glow as light travels through and across the translucent body of the moonstone. Its pale, cool luminosity provides a beautiful counterpoint to the saturated color of the accenting rich red rubies.

Characteristic of jewelry produced during the Retro period of the 1940s and early 1950s, the fabulous statement ring has a medium profile (rises 9mm from the finger - 0.35 inches) for a comfortable fit on the hand.

The ring is in very good condition and was recently lightly cleaned and polished.
