This authentic, hand-painted wooden clock dial dates to the 1820s–1830s Federal era. It originally served as the face of a 30-hour "wooden works" shelf clock, a style pioneered by Connecticut clockmakers. Crafted on a primitive square wooden board, the dial features crisp, hand-inked Arabic numerals and a charming, central hand-painted floral wreath motif The central cutout accommodates the hand arbor, while the two lower winding holes are fitted with their original protective brass grommets. Beautiful antique condition with age-appropriate wear, including a historic aged patina, minor paint craquelure, and faint scuffs that enhance its authentic primitive character. Stable and structurally sound.
