This is an exquisite "Baby Gull" (Lokinpoika / Lokinpoikanen) by the legendary Finnish designer Kaj Franck. Produced by Nuutajärvi Notsjo in the 1970s, surviving examples are rare. This piece is black with shimmering metallic and blue tones that evoke images of the heavens like those captured by the James Webb telescope. This is one of the finest examples to hit the market in several years. It measures roughly 4 3/8" tall.
This piece appears to be in very good used condition, with no major cracks or chips noted. They may contain bubbles, color variations and other production irregularities as is typical in vintage and handblown glass. There are signs of wear consistent with age and gentle use. Please refer to the photos to assess full condition.
