The chairs feature distinctive shaped open balloon backs with scalloped crest rails, subtly carved detailing, and elegantly curved front legs. The gently shaped seat rails and restrained ornamentation reflect the graceful proportions of 19th-century French furniture. The chairs have been structurally revised, preserving the naturally aged patina and warm honey-brown tones of the walnut. The wood has been carefully cleaned and polished with wax, retaining its original character and variations in grain. Newly reupholstered in a woven jacquard fabric featuring an ivory floral and scrolling vine pattern against a soft seafoam blue-green background. The generously padded seats are finished with matching double piping trim following the contours of the shaped seat frames.
