Striking mid-20th-century Chinese Shiwan ceramic elephant garden stool. Beautifully molded and full of character, this vintage 1960s piece functions wonderfully as an eclectic side table, a unique plant stand, or a statement accent piece for an entryway or living room.
Crafted in the traditional Shiwan style, the stool features a stately white elephant with a finely detailed trunk and ears. It wears an ornate, ceremonial saddle drape glazed in a deep, glossy cobalt blue, accented by intricate relief motifs and framed by a rich, golden-ochre geometric border. The elephant stands on a textured, earth-toned base and supports a flat, hexagonal seat top perfect for holding a cocktail, a book, or a favorite houseplant.
