Executed in oil on canvas, this large-scale composition belongs to the Flemish Old Master tradition and depicts a religious subject. The attribution to the circle of Karel Philips Spierincks places the work within the artistic environment surrounding the Flemish painter during the first half of the 17th century, rather than representing a direct attribution to Spierincks himself. The monumental dimensions give the painting considerable decorative and architectural presence. Measuring 105 cm in height and 100 cm in width, it is particularly suited to a substantial wall or period interior. The painting remains in good condition and retains the character expected of a work of this age.
