The composition captures the celebrated Parisian monument through a restrained and subtle palette, with loosely handled brushwork lending the scene an Impressionistic character. Delicate variations of colour and tone create depth and atmosphere while retaining the architectural presence of the Arc de Triomphe as the focal point of the composition. Presented beneath glass within a contrasting black frame, the work has an understated appearance that allows the lighter tones of the watercolour to stand out effectively. A decorative late 20th-century Parisian cityscape, well suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
