Crafted from solid brass, the chandelier features five straight, rectangular arms radiating from a cylindrical central body, creating a clean and distinctly architectural composition. Each arm terminates in a cylindrical brass lamp holder supporting a cube-shaped clear glass shade. The heavy glass shades are richly molded with a geometric relief pattern of faceted squares and intersecting bands, giving the glass a jewel-like quality and creating an attractive play of light when illuminated. The combination of the angular brass construction and sculptural glass gives the chandelier a particularly strong geometric character. The chandelier is suspended from a brass stem and retains its original brass ceiling canopy. A fine example of Swedish lighting from the 1960s, combining the restrained geometry of Scandinavian Modern design with unusually decorative and substantial glasswork.
