Executed with an Impressionist influence, the composition is characterised by a subtle palette and loose, expressive handling of colour. The artist has created a pleasing coastal scene with an atmospheric quality, balancing the architectural forms of the houses against the surrounding landscape and shoreline. The restrained use of colour gives the work a particularly decorative and tranquil character. Presented beneath glass within a wooden frame, the watercolour remains in good condition consistent with its age. A charming contemporary coastal work, well suited to both traditional and modern interiors.
