Lister, circa 1975 Material: Oil on Board, Wood An atmospheric vintage oil painting by M. Lister, depicting a dramatic storm over Fairlight, rendered with a particularly effective sense of changing weather and landscape. The composition captures the intensity of an approaching storm through subtle variations of colour, tonal contrast and carefully observed detail. The artist’s treatment of the landscape and turbulent sky creates considerable depth and atmosphere, giving the work a strong visual presence. Executed in oil on board, the painting demonstrates an accomplished handling of colour and detail characteristic of traditional British landscape painting of the later 20th century. The work is presented within a cream-coloured frame with a lightly distressed appearance, complementing the subdued palette and character of the composition. Presented in good vintage condition, with appropriate signs of age and use consistent with its period. Artist: M.
