Pugh material: watercolour on paper, glass, card, wood a charming mid-20th-century watercolour by g. P. Pugh depicting arundel castle in west sussex, viewed from the river arun. The composition captures the historic castle rising prominently above the surrounding landscape, with the river arun forming the foreground. Executed with a subtle and restrained palette, the work displays an impressionistic character, with loose handling of colour and atmospheric treatment of the landscape. Dating from approximately the 1960s–1970s, the painting is presented beneath glass with a museum-style mount and housed within a cream-painted frame displaying a lightly distressed finish. An attractive english landscape watercolour combining architectural and riverside interest, particularly suited to traditional, country house or eclectic interiors. Presented in good vintage condition, with age and wear consistent with its period. The frame displays some intentional or age-related distressing. Artist: g. P.
