Model: c - also known as "canadian"
conceived in the spirit of art deco, this highly representative and aesthetically refined pair of armchairs representing the renowned model c, also known as "canadian", from the 1940s in czechoslovakia, bears the unmistakable authorial signature of the prominent designer jindřich halabala in production for the renowned up works. The artistic and structural concept stems from modernist principles of optical lightness, harmonious dynamic lines, and masterly craftsmanship of solid beech wood. The architectural structure of the armchairs is built upon smoothly shaped, bent wooden elements forming elegant armrests and subtle legs that support the comfortable bodies. The outstanding aesthetic impression is heightened by new professional upholstery in faux sheepskin, which gives the entire ensemble a warm, timeless, and highly luxurious expression.
both items have undergone a complete, highly professional, and sensitive restoration combined with thorough professional cleaning and the implementation of new professional upholstery. Experienced restorers have thus successfully restored one hundred percent structural integrity and maximum visual appeal while preserving absolute historical authenticity, subtle patina, and the high collector's value of this unique pair.
thanks to their renowned czechoslovak origin, the prestigious authorship of jindřich halabala, and their timeless design, this pair of armchairs serves as a highly exclusive yet fully functional element in a modern interior. They stand out perfectly in a representative living room, a stylish study, a salon, or as breathtaking design solitaires in a space emphasizing top-tier interwar and postwar design. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
