A beautiful vintage French art-glass perfume bottle, signed Allex to the underside and believed to originate from the renowned French glassmaking tradition associated with Verrerie d’Allex.
This striking decorative bottle features a beautifully rounded, almost spherical body with flowing swirls of rich amber, smoky bronze, warm gold and subtle amethyst-purple tones. The glass displays an attractive iridescent quality, catching and reflecting the light to reveal a wonderful depth of colour.
The bottle is complemented by its matching, sculptural glass stopper, featuring a rich amber-brown finish and an elegant pointed, teardrop-shaped silhouette. The stopper sits within a short, flared neck, completing the harmonious proportions of the piece.
Of particular interest is the decorative glasswork, with delicate internal bubbles, swirling colour variations and subtle textural effects that give the bottle its distinctive artistic character.
The underside bears an engraved signature reading Allex, consistent with signed French art-glass perfume bottles associated with Verrerie d’Allex.
Similar signed Allex perfume bottles have been documented from the 1980s, including examples dated 1983 and 1984. This piece is therefore provisionally attributed to the same period, although its exact production date has not been established.
