This striking piece beautifully bridges East Asian ceramic traditions with Western studio artistry, making it an excellent statement piece for interior designers and collectors alike.
Standing at 7.75 inches tall with a stable 4-inch base, the vase features a classic double-gourd (hulucai) silhouette heavily inspired by historic Korean Goryeo Dynasty celadon. It is finished in a luminous, soft sage-green celadon glaze with a meticulous all-over crackle finish. The lower bulb is elegantly decorated with delicate, hand-inlaid white slip botanical motifs depicting flowering lotuses and reeds reaching upwards from a stylized geometric border.
Adding to its mystique and collectibility, the unglazed foot features a distinct, deeply pressed potter's mark stylized as a medieval European ecclesiastical wax seal, reading "SIGILLUM...". This intriguing cross-cultural blend of an Asian silhouette with a historic Western maker's mark makes it a fantastic conversation piece. Perfect for styling on a mantle, console, or built-in bookcase. See less
