Also know as "Swans at Stagnant Water" or "Tête d'enfant avec canards". Not signed, as issued. The central composition features a highly detailed swan and a duck drifting closely together on the surface of water. Sketched faintly in profile on the left-hand side is the head of a young child, identified as a portrait of Morisot's beloved daughter, Julie Manet (Edouard Manet's niece). Morisot used precise, light needle scratches directly into the plate to achieve a sketch-like quality that perfectly replicates the fluid motion of water and feathers Very good condition.
