The warm ochre-yellow glaze is decorated with hand-painted dark brown vertical stripes and broad horizontal bands, giving the pitcher a bold graphic appearance.

Across the front, the inscription “LORDAY – LE VIN DES GOURMETS” translates to “Lorday – the wine of gourmets,” reflecting its original association with French wine service or promotion. Variations in the painted decoration, glaze, and pottery surface add to its handmade appeal. Both decorative and functional, the antique-style pitcher would make a wonderful addition to a French country kitchen, wine cellar, wet bar, or collection of vintage advertising pottery.

The pitcher is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with minor surface wear and glaze irregularities.
