Both pieces are struck with official assay hallmarks certifying a minimum purity of 800/1000 solid silver.
item 1: antique charles x period scent vinaigrette, circa 1820-1835. This exceptionally charming pocket vinaigrette features a classic horizontal reeded texture throughout its curved form, complete with an unengraved shield cartouche on the front face. The top lid features a robust suspension loop meant for a chatelaine or long neck chain. It bears the prestigious french "vieillard" (old man) assay control hallmark and the second standard title punch ("2") used strictly between 1819 and 1838. The interior base retains its matching historical assay marks.
item2: art deco solid silver pill/compact case by albert branger, circa 1920-1930. A sleek, flat profile vanity case exhibiting timeless geometric styling. The hinged lid features crisp concentric borders filled with rich blue enamel inlays surrounding a blank central oval cartridge. The interior reveals a preserved vermeil (gold-plated) wash, traditionally applied to prevent internal silver tarnishing from moisture or acidic contents. The inner flange is fully struck with the official diamond-shaped maker's mark for the celebrated parisian master silversmith albert branger (5 rue des haudriettes, paris) alongside the boar's head hallmark, the official french guarantee stamp for fine silver.
