The rectangular mirror plate is mounted within a finely proportioned mahogany frame and pivots between its supports, allowing the viewing angle to be adjusted as originally intended. The warm colour and natural figuring of the mahogany complement the restrained Georgian design, creating an attractive and practical period object suitable for a dressing table, chest of drawers or vanity. Of particular interest is the survival of the original mirror plate and original backing, adding to the historic character and integrity of the piece. Presented in excellent antique condition overall, with only minor wear to the extremities consistent with age and historic use.
