A large Chinese cloisonné bowl, about 14 inches across, covered in lotus blossoms and scrolling leaves in turquoise, cobalt, green, pink and red enamel, all outlined in gilt wire. The interior is decorated too, with more lotus blossoms on a blue ground, so it looks finished from every angle.
It comes on a carved hardwood stand and stands about 8 inches tall on it. It makes a strong centerpiece for a console, dining table or coffee table, or an anchor for a collection of Asian decorative art.
