This is a finely crafted gilt bronze sculpture of Green Tara, a revered female Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism known for her swift compassion and protection. The figure is seated in the "Royal Ease" (lalitasana) posture upon a double-lotus base, with her right leg extended and left leg tucked in. She has a serene, gilded face with downcast eyes and a jeweled crown. Her right hand is extended in the varada mudra (gesture of giving), while her left hand holds the stem of a lotus that blossoms at her shoulder. She is adorned with an elaborate, beaded necklace and flowing robes with engraved floral patterns. The sculpture is extensively gilded, retaining a bright, warm gold luster with a natural, aged patina in the recesses that highlights the intricate casting details.
