This is a finely crafted antique gilt bronze sculpture of Green Tara, a revered female Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism known for her swift compassion and protection. The figure is seated in the "Royal Ease" (lalitasana) posture upon a double-lotus base. She has a serene, gilded face with downcast eyes and a jeweled crown. Her right hand is extended in the varada mudra (gesture of giving), while her left hand holds the stem of a lotus that blossoms at her shoulder. She is adorned with an elaborate, beaded silver-toned necklace and flowing robes with intricate, embossed floral and textile patterns. The sculpture is extensively gilded, with a rich, aged patina and silver-toned accents highlighting the fine details. Two lotus stems rise from her sides, one supporting a Dharma wheel.
