The figure is depicted seated in a relaxed, cross-legged posture upon an elaborate base formed from swirling, cloud-like scrolls. He has a serene, gilded face with a long, dark beard and wears flowing, layered robes. A prominent Bagua (trigram) medallion is centered on his chest, and a large Yin-Yang symbol is engraved on the back of his robe. In his raised right hand, he holds a fly whisk (fuchen), while his left hand rests in his lap, cradling a small gourd. The bronze is extensively gilded, retaining a bright, warm gold luster with a natural, aged patina in the recesses that highlights the intricate casting and engraved details.
