A striking original Japanese woodblock print by Yoshijiro Urushibara (1889–1953), also known as Mokuchu Urushibara, depicting a spirited rearing horse in expressive black and gray tones.
The horse's powerful movement is captured through sweeping, brushlike lines and delicate tonal shading. Set against natural ivory paper, the minimalist composition has a distinctly modern graphic quality while reflecting the elegance of traditional Japanese printmaking.
Urushibara was an accomplished Japanese printmaker celebrated for his expressive animal subjects and his contributions to Japanese and European woodblock printing traditions.
The print features Japanese artist's marks and two red seals within the composition. Printed on textured Japanese paper with natural deckled edges.
A compelling piece for Mid-Century Modern, Japandi, minimalist, or eclectic interiors, particularly appealing to collectors of Japanese art and equestrian imagery.
