A beautifully presented vintage print after François Boucher depicting Spring from the artist’s celebrated Four Seasons series.
The romantic Rococo composition is surrounded by a rose-toned fabric mat and an unusually elaborate gilt relief inner border, then finished in a substantial gilt wood frame. The layered presentation gives the work considerable architectural depth and makes it especially striking as a decorative wall piece.
A period label on the reverse identifies the artist as Boucher and the title as Spring and bears an N.Y.G.S. marking associated with New York Graphic Society.
