This is a finely crafted antique cloisonné enamel censer (incense burner), featuring a stemmed, pedestal form. The body is richly decorated in cloisonné enamel on a deep red ground, adorned with vibrant, multi-colored floral and scrolling vine motifs in shades of pink, green, blue, and yellow. The tall, slender stem and the flared, circular base continue the same intricate floral design. The top is fitted with a domed, gilt-bronze lid cast in the form of stylized mountain peaks, with pierced openings for incense smoke to escape. The interior of the censer is finished in smooth, patinated brass, and the underside of the base bears a cast seal mark. The enamel surface is glossy and shows the characteristic fine wirework of the cloisonné technique, with the gilding exhibiting a warm, aged patina.
