A charming antique French wood display frame featuring beautifully aged walnut-toned wood, delicate inner molding, and a striking rose-colored Venetian-style marbled paper backing. I purchased this in the South of France in 2007. It was used in a bedroom/office as a modern day memorabilia board.
Originally designed for displaying and changing personal memorabilia, the frame features an opening back that allows photographs, letters, invitations, and other treasured keepsakes to be arranged and updated.
With its warm patina, understated French country-house character, and richly patterned marbled paper, this versatile antique would be particularly beautiful in a home office, library, or study. It could also be repurposed to frame a family portrait, oil painting, or other artwork.
The original front glass is missing. While the piece does not need the glass front, it made its' use as a memorabilia board quite elevated.
Approximately 28” H × 24” W.

The wood patina is fabulous and clearly vintage. The marbled paper does show signs of its age but in a charming way. I would add the glass back to the front and use it as an elegant memorabilia board for a man's office. less
