This exquisite piece captures the restrained elegance typical of early 20th-century Chinese Art Deco production. The expansive, luminous field is rendered in a refined palette of ivory beige cream white hues, providing a perfect canvas for the dramatic blue accents.

The design eschews the dense patterning of traditional Oriental carpets, favoring an open composition that highlights the luxurious wool texture. A single, finely detailed circular medallion anchors the center, executed in a rich indigo blue that contrasts beautifully with the soft ground. Scattered throughout the field are delicate floral sprays and corner medallions, maintaining the carpet's sophisticated sense of negative space.

Flanking the central space is a magnificent, multi-layered border system featuring stylized foliage and classical Chinese fretwork. The deep blue main stripe is adorned with lighter, scrolling floral motifs, framing the composition with authority. Such well-preserved antique rugs from the Republican era are highly sought after for their unique blend of Eastern tradition and Western modernism.

Measuring generously, this carpet functions perfectly as one of the highly desirable room size rugs, specifically measuring approximately 9.01ft x 11.05ft. Its sophisticated use of negative space and the timeless combination of pale neutrals and deep blue ensures it integrates seamlessly into both contemporary and period interiors, offering a foundation of quiet luxury and historical depth.
