Vintage Italian chalkware statue depicting the Infant Jesus of Prague, dating to approximately the 1950s–1960s. This traditional Catholic devotional figure features the crowned Christ Child wearing elaborate cream-colored robes with red accents, a Sacred Heart pendant, and a cross. His right hand is raised in blessing while his left holds a globus cruciger, an orb symbolizing Christ's sovereignty over the world.
Devotion to the Infant Jesus of Prague originated in Europe and became especially associated with the celebrated 16th-century statue housed in Prague's Church of Our Lady Victorious. This Italian-made interpretation reflects the popularity of religious chalkware in mid-20th-century Catholic homes. Ideal for a prayer altar, devotional collection, or Old World religious décor.
