These antique tables from Italy, embodying the restrained sophistication of neoclassical design, have been crafted with classic demi-lune, or half-moon shaped tops (with a straight back designed to sit flush against a wall) and clean, rounded aprons, raised on four slender, tapered legs. The tables display a beautifully aged dark walnut to deep mahogany-toned finish. Over time, the wood has developed a rich patina that accentuates the natural grain, subtle variations in color. The surfaces exhibit expected wear, including scattered scratches, finish losses, age-related cracking and separation to the plank tops, minor edge wear, and areas of patina development that contribute to the authentic antique character of the pieces. The tables remain sturdy and present well. The absence of excessive ornamentation on these 19th century French demi-lunes highlights the tables' exceptional form and rich patina, making them versatile pieces that complement both traditional and contemporary interiors.
